Toolbox Tip

A large size toolbox made for mechanics, carpenters, etc. can serve as a great storage container and organizer for your art and calligraphy items.

There is depth for large items, a tray with a handle for smaller items, and some models have two small divided boxes, ideal for nibs, etc. that fit securely on the outside top of the box.

The inside tray, with pens, markers and similar tools, can go on one’s desktop as is. (I put four single Rubbermaid cutlery dividers - the kind that connect to each other - in my tray to separate pens, markers and other tools from each other).

When the tray is on my desk, I upend the dividers to lean at an angle in the tray and leaving room in the tray for bottles of ink. The box itself stays on the floor beside you for easy access to the larger items.

Apart from being better organized and more efficient, this toolbox storage works well for transportation to events and also at home.

Keeping everything but the biggest items such as cutting mat, in the toolbox all the time, I can save myself so much time and effort when I want to work in another part of the house.
