Christmas Supper & Cards

The Guild celebrated Christmas a little early with it’s festive Pot-Luck Supper at the end of November.

This year we were honoured by the visit of an old friend of the Guild from Toronto; Mark Lutz , who was accompanied by his charming wife Donna .

After supper Mark entertained us with a slide show on the life and works of Alf Ebsen, a noted calligrapher who started the Toronto Guild.

Alf was amaster at layout and design. One of his things was to put a small line of Uncial across the bottom of a piece of work. The other was that he wove a piece of ribbon through a design of a diploma which greatly enhances it’s appearance

Members had their traditional Christmas Card exchange, but this year with a twist.

As one of our members, Madeline Ebert, lives some way away she was not able to attend the festivities. Instead the members made an extra card for Madeline.
