To kick off the last year of the 2nd Millennium we opened our program for 2000 with brushing up on some of the basics
Barb brought along a variety of writing implements, both traditional and not so traditional. Her stock of goodies included broad and pointed steel pens in a variety of sizes and from a number of manufacturers including Mitchel, Speedball and Coit. Her almost limitless supplies included brushes of various types and one or two of the Guild's favourites, including the yoghourt pot pen and the Stimudent pen.
Chris provided us with a number of pieces of paper to try as well as bringing a variety of manufacturers sample books.
Neil enthralled us with a demonstration of gilding using both PVA glue and Gesso.
Joan, in absentia, provided some interesting examples of writing using different implements, samplers are shown below.
