A number of Guild members enjoyed a morning workshop given by Guild member Joan Gooderham
Using the same equipment as needed for Copperplate, the Pointed Pen Black Letter hand is written with a pointed flexible pen with an angled holder.
Higgins Eternal Ink is the preferred writing medium.
Below is Joan's exemplar and some of the work produced by her students in the workshop..
Although the hand looks deceptively simple, especially when demonstrated by Joan, most of the rest of us found it less than easy and plenty of post-workshop practice will be needed.
It is unlikely one would want to write a long passage in the hand but it is ideal for Greetings Cards.
Combining this hand with Neil's afternoon workshop a number of us produced cards for the Guild's Christmas Card Exchange.
